Welcome to D and D Farms CSA Program.

Terms and Agreements:
In basic terms, our CSA consists of a community of individuals who pledge support our farms operation and sharing the risks and benefits of food production. Typically, members of the CSA pledge in advance to cover the anticipated costs of the farm operation for the season, this is a set price based on the size box that you wish to receive. In return, you will receive shares in the farm's harvest throughout the growing season, as well as satisfaction gained from reconnecting to the land and participating directly in food production. Members also share in the risks of farming, including poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests. By direct sales to community members, who have provided the farmer with working capital in advance, growers receive better prices for their crops, gain some financial security, and are relieved of much of the burden of marketing.
CSA is sometimes known as "subscription farming," and the two terms have been used on occasion to convey the same basic principles. In other cases, however, use of the latter term is intended to convey philosophic and practical differences in a given farm operation. Subscription farming (or marketing) arrangements tend to emphasize the economic benefits, for the farmer as well as consumer, of a guaranteed, direct market for farm products, rather than the concept of community-building that is the basis of a true CSA. Growers typically contract directly with customers, who may be called "members," and who have agreed in advance to buy a minimum amount of produce at a fixed price, but who have little or no investment in the farm itself.
By signing up and paying for your season’s subscription ahead of time, you enable the farm to prep the land, plant, raise and care for all of the crops and the harvest of them in due course during the season.
By paying a head of time you will also secure your share of the product of the farm for the year, you will also secure your share of the produce of the farm at the current market rate, and will not be effected by market price fluctuations during the season.
The following are the terms and conditions of the D and D Farms CSA Program. By signing up you are acknowledging the fact that you have read and agree to the following terms:
1. That by signing up and paying ahead of time I will get my subscription at the current advertised price with no increase during the season with the exception of adding on additional items at your request and only for the additional items.
2. I understand that my weekly deliveries will be delivered to me at the requested address on time weekly, unless I am out of town or unavailable for a period of time, in which case I am to notify D and D Farms a minimum of 2 business days ahead of time for my service to be suspended. This can be done by phone or email at any of the contact points on the web site or this agreement.
3. I understand that as a member I also share in the risks of farming, including poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as flood, drought, tropical storm or hurricane.
4. I understand that once I sign up and pay my deposit that I am secured my place in the CSA for the year. If I fail to pay the full amount on time or decide not to participate, I will no longer be eligible for the CSA in the future.
